The Promotion of Animal Welfare Society "PAWS" is hosting a "Country Pets Party" at Feather Falls Casino in Oroville on Saturday, April 23rd. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is at 6:00 p.m.

It's a fundraiser to support the program. The PAWS mission is to prevent homelessness and suffering of dogs and cats through spaying and neutering. It offers low cost spay and neutering through its Veterinary Clinic in Oroville, as well as some low cost medical treatment, low cost vaccinations and low cost medication including flea and tick control. The clinic is located at 3557 Oro Dam Boulevard East.

PAWS relies solely on donations and proceeds from its thrift store, located at the same address as its clinic, to subsidize operations.

The Country Pets Party is for humans only. It includes a BBQ tri-tip and chicken dinner (options for vegetarians), a no host soda and juice bar, dancing to the country music of Jim Halsey and Jeff Rubeck, as well as a silent auction and raffle.

It takes place in the Gymnasium at Feather Falls Casino, #1 Alverda Drive. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. For information call 530.589.1265.
