Parents to weigh in on CUSD's budget surplus

Construction crews are busy equipping Chico’s junior high schools for sixth graders, and it looks like the district may have some money leftover when the work is done.

Local junior high schools are receiving upgraded gymnasiums, offices, classrooms and more, but administrators say that thanks to a larger than expected budget from the state, some other areas may receive upgrades as well.

Before the funds are spent and plans are made, the district is asking for community input.

The district will be sending parents emails containing a survey in the next week, and will also have a link to the survey posted on their website.

Suggestions from Action News Now viewers included, nutrition upgrades, transportation improvements, a Chico High School football field, and less chaotic pick-up and drop-off lines.
