Paradise Police to Close Part of the Skyway for Millner Accident Investigation

Jul 5, 2013 4:58 PM

Skyler Millner, 13, was killed after being hit by a car driven by Ken Hunt, 63, on May 31. It happened at the 5,500 block of Skyway, at the crosswalk in front of Annie's Country Cafe. Other cars had stopped for the crossing teen, but Hunt says he didn't see Millner and failed to stop. Skyler was on life support for a few days while police located his family, and so his organs could be harvested. Hunt was not arrested or charged in Skyler's death, because police said there was no evidence he was negligent.
The case was forwarded to the Butte County District Attorney's office. Tuesday, July 9 at 7:30am, Paradise Police and the Butte County Sheriff's Department plan to close that block of the Skyway to investigate the accident. Paradise Police will borrow the Total Station 3D Imaging Platform from the Butte County Sheriff's Department, so they can reposition the cars and recreate the accident. They are trying to determine who was at fault. They are asking drivers to avoid the area for about a three hour timeframe.
