A man who allegedly tried to evade Paradise police in a stolen truck Tuesday morning has been arrested, and police say they found the keys to a second stolen car in his pocket.

It all began around 10 a.m. when a Paradise man had his truck stolen from outside his Wagstaff Road home.

The thief headed westbound on Wagstaff, towards the Skyway, and a friend of the victim’s gave chase.

Thanks to directions from the pursuing friend, officers were able to catch up with the stolen vehicle on the Skyway, near Elliot Road. They conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of the Skyway and Honey Run Road, the driver, Michael Dickinson, was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft.

As officers searched Dickinson they found a set of keys belonging to a car stolen in Redding Sunday, but discovered abandoned along the Skyway earlier Tuesday morning.

Dickinson was booked into the Butte County Jail with bail set at $48,000.
