Paradise police have arrested a Chico woman suspected of stabbing a woman in the back with an ice pick last week.

Chico police had been searching for 50-year-old Wendy Davis since last Tuesday, when she allegedly stabbed a person during an argument at the Almond Grove Mobile Home Park.

Paradise police contacted Davis outside Kmart Friday, and say she initially provided officers with a false name, but was eventually positively identified as Davis.

Davis has been booked into the Butte County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder.

The stabbing victim’s injuries were described by Chico police as “nearly life-threatening” and she was listed in stable condition the day after the stabbing.
