A paradise man is headed to prison for attempted murder.

20-year old Nathan Hendrix was sentenced last week to life in prison.

He's eligible for parole in seven years for a stabbing attack in January 2013.

Hendrix was 17 when he and a friend crossed paths with two other teenagers walking on a bike path north of Maxwell Drive.

Hendrix then pulled out a knife and without being provoked stabbed the 18-year old victim repeatedly in the face and neck.

Hendrix admitted to police he stabbed and tried to kill the victim because he wanted to become a member of the Juggalos, a group devoted to the band The Insane Clown Posse.

Hendrix went through several psychological examinations before he was found to be competent and then sentenced.

A second defendant was already sentenced back in 2014.
