The Paradise Irrigation District Board of Directors are holding a public hearing on a proposed water rate hike Friday in Paradise.
The hearing comes just three days before the change would be implemented. The new rate hike plan puts all residential customers on an allotment of 13 water units for $54 a month with tiered penalties if you use more.
Service charge increases will trigger automatically in 2018 and 2020.
Under the Propostion 218 process, the water rate hike can be implemented unless the majority of customers vote against the rate increase.
Public hearing will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday evening at the board chambers on Clark road.
