A Paradise High School student has been taken into custody after he allegedly made “terrorist threats” against a school official.

Paradise police say Michael Young, 18, sent a tweet Sunday indicating he was going to harm a counselor at Paradise High School.

The tweet was intercepted by an out of state police department and forwarded to the Paradise Police Department. Investigators say the tweet specifically mentioned the counselor by name, and the threat was determined to be credible.

Young was arrested Sunday and has been booked into the Butte County Jail on suspicion of threatening a school official.
