Paradise Chocolate Festival returns to the Ridge this week

The 11th Annual Paradise Chocolate Fest is sure to satisfy even the biggest sweet tooth. It's a chocolate extravaganza that benefits youth organizations on the Paradise Ridge. Since 2008 the event has generated $136,000.00 for organizations that provide educational, enrichment, and recreational opportunities for youth.

Over the summer the Chocolate Fest was honored at the California State Fair as one of the "Top Food Festivals" in the state.

The Festival takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 7th, at Terry Ashe Park on the Skyway. It features a Chocolate "Candy Land" with booths providing plenty of samples and treats for sale by professional Chocolatiers. There is also a 50's themed Ice Cream Shoppe, musical entertainment, "Art in the Park", an "All About Books" faire, and craft, commercial and community booths.

Among many highlights is the crowning of the 2016 Paradise Chocolate Fest Queen and King.

There is also a Kidz Zone with giant inflatables, carnival games and prizes, as well as a Chocolate Pie Eating Contest, a Chocolate Pancake Breakfast, Chocolate Chase Fun Run/ Walk, Chocolate Cuisine Challenge and a Cookie Stacking Contest.

A complimentary Park & Ride Shuttle service will be offered from several parking lots.

Admission is $5, with Children 4 and under getting in Free.

Additional events of the Paradise Chocolate Fest include an Evening of Chocolate, Wine & Brew on Friday, May 6th from 7-10 p.m. at the Paradise Community Park, at Black Oak & Pearson Road. Tickets are $50.

There is also a Chocolate Thunder Motorcycle run withe a Tri Tip BBQ & Rock and Roll on Saturday May 14th. It's $20 per Rider/ $30 per Couple.

Sunday May 15th is the Paradise Tour 'de Chocolate Bike Ride.
