Christmas came early this year for one family on the ridge thanks to the generosity of a local charter school. students and parents at Children's Community Charter School in Paradise collected presents for the Carmack family this month. They also raised $200 through a school bake sale. The Carmack family has experienced a lot of hardship in the past year. Kristin Carmack's daughter Grace was killed in a tragic accident in March when she was hit by a moving vehicle in a driveway, and her 4 year old son Jace has had 6 surgeries in the past year to help him deal with cerebral palsy. Carmack's 5 kids were able to open their presents alongside Santa today after he rode up on a fire truck.
