A pair of North State alleged murders were extradited back to Butte County Wednesday to face murder charges in the death of a transient whose body was found in an Oroville field Nov. 14.

Julie Lyn Moss, 54, and William Henry Smith Jr, 46, were arrested in Wisconsin Rapids, WI on Dec. 20. Both appeared in a Wood County court on January 15, 2016 and waived extradition.

Moss and Smith are charged in Butte County Superior Court with the murder of Angela Murray. Murray was an Oroville area transient whose dead body was found in a remote area off of Dunstone Drive, south of Oroville on Nov. 14. An autopsy determined Murray had been stabbed to death. Murray had been reported missing by her family in early November and was last been seen alive on Oct. 26.

Moss and Smith are scheduled to be arraigned in Butte County Superior Court Thursday on murder charges.
