Overnight Shooting Narrowly Misses Mother and Baby

Police are searching for the person who fired shots into a home in Redding overnight, narrowly missing a mother and her baby.

The shooting was reported Thursday at around 12:57 a.m. on the 800 block of Montcrest Drive.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found several rounds of bullets fired into a front bedroom window at a home on Montcrest Drive, but no one was injured.

According to the police report, several bullets missed Kayla Saechao, 22, and her 10-month-old baby who were asleep in the room at the time.

Two other people, Cody Parnell, 21, and his mother Leslie Parnell, 48, were also inside the home during the shooting.

No suspects were seen by the victims, but witnesses say they saw a black sedan leaving the area at a high rate of speed.
