Oroville Woman in Critical Condition After Felony Assault

An Oroville woman remains in critical condition in a Sacramento area hospital after suffering major head trauma from a felony assault early this morning.

At approximately 2:20 a.m. this morning, the Oroville Medical Center Emergency Room contacted the Oroville Police Department requesting officers investigate suspicious injuries to a 33-year-old female who was transported from her residence on the 2100 block of Spencer Avenue in Oroville by ambulance.

According to the Oroville Police Department’s press release, the woman suffered major head trauma and was later air lifted to a Sacramento area hospital where she was admitted to the intensive care unit. As of this hour she remains in critical condition. Oroville Police Detectives are conducting a criminal investigation and a suspect has been identified and located for questioning. A Department of Justice Crime Lab processed the scene at the residence after detectives obtained a search warrant.

The investigation is on-going and the Oroville Police Department is not releasing the names of the victim or suspect at this time. Action News Now will continue to follow this story and will bring you the latest updates.
