Oroville Pow Wow marks 18th year Memorial Weekend

The 18th annual Oroville Pow Wow takes place this Saturday, May 23rd and Sunday, May 24th at a new location this year.

Renamed the Jim Preston Memorial Pow Wow, the event will be held at the Berry Creek Rancheria, behind Gold Country Casino, 4020 Olive Highway in Oroville.

There will be two Grand Entry Parades Saturday, one at 11 a.m. the other at 7 p.m. Sunday's Grand Entry Parade is scheduled for 11 a.m. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

There will be Dance Exhibitions and Coronations, Arts and Crafts Vendors, Raffle Prize Drawings, Indian Tacos and Native Foods, a Drum Contest and Native American Music.

This is a no alcohol, tobacco, drugs, weapons, animals or open fires event. There is limited RV and tent camping available.
