Oroville police are trying to piece together the events leading up to an overnight stabbing near the intersection of 7th Avenue and Robinson Street.
According to the Oroville Police Department, a 25-year-old Oroville man was dropped off at a local hospital with life-threatening stab wounds around 1 a.m.
The person who dropped the victim at the hospital told police they found him near the intersection of 7th Avenue and Robinson Street. Investigators responded to the area and found evidence leading them to believe the stabbing happened in the street, although no weapon was found.
After speaking with the victim, investigators have come to believe the man may have been jumped by a group of people. The victim told police he was unable to make out the identity of any of the suspects.
The victim suffered multiple stab wounds to the torso area and is in critical condition at a local hospital.
