Oroville police have launched an investigation after vandals broke a viewing window at the Feather River Fish Hatchery over the weekend.
The facility's sviewing chamber, which features multi-pane windows so visitors can view fish, now includes a shattered pane of glass.
Officials say vandals broke out one of the windows over the weekend, but fortunately there was minimal damage and water is not leaking out. If the window had broken completely the viewing area could have flooded, causing more significant damage.
Fish and Wildlife Officers, along with the Department of Water Resources are working on a plan for the necessary repairs. The ladder is still open, but officials expect that they will have to shut it down for repairs.
