The Oroville Police Department coordinated a large cleanup effort yesterday to remove illegal campsites and trash from the dog park at River Bend Park and were able to provide a number of homeless people with better living arrangements.

Yesterday's cleanup effort resulted in the removal of roughly 40 yards of trash and led to several people being provided with better living conditions, including a family of four who were provided transportation to another state, where family members had offered them a place to live.

The cleanup was a joint effort between the Oroville Police Department, Butte County Sheriff's Office and Feather River Parks and Recreation.
