Butte County authorities are searching for an Oroville man who they say is refusing to comply with a court order to give up custody of his 4-year-old son.

The Butte County District Attorney’s Office said Jose Carrillo, 32, was supposed to hand his son, Jacob Perry Snyder-Carillo, over to the boy’s mother on November 30, but never did.

Jacob’s mother told investigators she is confident Jose would never hurt the boy, but she also said Jacob has some medical concerns that need to be handled. Authorities say the child is not in any immediate danger, and therefore no Amber Alert will be issued.

An arrest warrant for parental abduction/concealment has been issued for Jose Carillo, and authorities believe he and Jacob are still in the Oroville area.

Carillo who is listed as one of Butte County’s most wanted felons, is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 155 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jose and Jacob is asked to call the Butte County Sheriff’s Office at 530-538-7321.
