An Oroville man who had been sought by authorities in connection with a fatal shooting Saturday night is no longer considered a suspect in the death of 29-year-old Paul Bryant.
Carlos Carias Sr., 45, turned himself turned himself in at the sheriff's office in Oroville Monday morning, but has since been released from custody.
Carias was initially named a suspect in Bryant's death, but Sheriff Kory Honea tells Action News Now that while Carias is a witness in the case, he is no longer considered a murder suspect.
Authorities say Bryant was shot Saturday near the 4700 block of Lincoln Blvd in Oroville. He was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
The investigation into Bryant's death is ongoing, and officials say they expect to release more information Monday afternoon.
