Investigators with the Butte County Sheriff's Office have arrested an Oroville man for murder in connection with Monday morning's Highway 70 shooting.

On Wednesday the Butte County Sheriff's Office arrested 22-year-old Ker Vang for the murder of 19-year-old Jar Pao Lee.

The Butte County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of gun shots fired into a vehicle on Highway 70 south of Nelson Road and the Grand Avenue off-ramp in Oroville at 1:50 a.m. Monday.

While deputies were investigating the incident, Chico Police told the Sheriff's Office two gunshot victims had arrived at Enloe Medical Center. Both victims were rushed into surgery, but one was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The second shooting victim is recovering and his name will not be released for his own safety.

According to the Sheriff's Office Vang has ties to a Hmong gang. Sheriff Kory Honea previously told Actionb News Now the two victims were not associated with any gangs.
