A 15-year-old student is recovering after he was hit while biking near Oroville High School Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the student was biking near the roundabout at the Montgomery Street and Washington Avenue roundabout just before 3:30 p.m. when he was struck by a Ford Excursion.

The student was taken to Enloe Medical Center in Fair Condition and is expected to make a full recovery.

The crash remains under investigation, but police say it doesn’t appear as though the driver, Ronald Cox, was operating in an unsafe matter, and no charges are expected to be filed against him.

Investigators say it appears as though the bicyclist may have crossed the street outside of a designated crosswalk.
