Oroville High School is on a high alert Friday morning after a note threatening suicide was found inside a campus bathroom.

School officials warned parents of the threat via telephone Thursday evening and issued a statement on the school's website. The website statement ensured parents that extra security would be in place Friday, but classes would otherwise resume as planned.

School officials say the note, found written on a bathroom stall, said "I'm going to kill myself on 1/9/15.

District Superintendent Corey Willenberg told Action News Now that while he doesn't want to appear to overreact, keeping people safe is the top priority. He said a uniformed officer will be on campus all day and officials are trying to determine if the threat is credible.
