The Downtown Oroville Christmas Parade of Lights takes place Saturday, December 13th beginning at 6 p.m.
This is the 19th year for the event, and the theme is "Riverfront Christmas".
This is the second year for the "new" parade route, which begins at the Chamber of Commerce office on Montgomery and winds down Myers to the City Christmas tree at Oroville Municipal Auditorium. So the best viewing is on Myers, or in front of the Chamber offices. You can find out more on Facebook at Oroville Parade of Lights, or by calling the Chamber at 538-2542.
Also in Oroville ... the Birdcage Theatre and the State Theatre Arts Guild are teaming to present a live, theatrical production of the classic holiday story "It's a Wonderful Life." The James W. Rodgers play is based on the beloved movie by director Frank Capra.
The show runs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, and Saturday, Dec. 13, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at the Historic Oroville State Theatre, 1489 Myers St.
Tickets are available online at www.OrovilleStateTheatre.com. Tickets will also be sold at the door, and they are on sale now at the following Oroville businesses: Betty Jeans (1920 Bird St.), Air Cooled (2816 Olive Highway).
