Butte County sheriff's deputies are searching for four men who robbed an Oroville cab driver, then struck him with a machete.
The Wimberly Taxi driver, John Hardwick was robbed around 5:40 a.m. Tuesday when he picked up four men outside of an Oroville home on Columbia Avenue.
One of the men was wielding a machete and demanded money from the driver.
The driver handed over an undisclosed amount of money and tried to speed away, however one of the men would not get out of the taxi, and began striking the cabbie with the machete.
The attackers are described as three black men and one white man, all around 5 feet 9 inches, in their late teens or early twenties.
