The Orland Police Department has been given $20,000 that will be used to support the department’s volunteer program and outfit officers with body cameras.

The donation was made Tuesday night at the Orland City Council meeting.

Tribal Chairman Andrew Freeman says the donation was made to enhance the important role the department and its volunteers play within the community.

The money will allow for the purchase of 11 body cameras, security cameras for the Orland Police Department, and $4,000 worth of safety equipment for volunteers.
