A community came together Tuesday to remember a 16-year-old and her father who were shot and killed last weekend in Orland.
Candles, balloons and photos can be seen on a shrine placed by family and friends of Jennifer Byers, 16, an Orland High School student.
Family and friend gathered on the corner of Mill and Eighth Streets to say goodbye.
"It's like losing a child," Debbie Moutter said.
Moutter's son was in the same grade as Jennifer, She says Jennifer would always go to her home for sleepovers, play video games and loved to go swimming.
She says her sudden death has been hard on everyone.
"There's a lot of pain in this town," Moutter said.
Now the community just hopes to help one another heal from a loss they will never forget.
The family plans on holding a car wash to help with funeral expenses, a funeral date has not been set.
