LOS ANGELES (AP) - A judge has halted an order that granted actress Kelly Rutherford temporary custody of her two young children to return them from Monaco to Los Angeles.

The ruling Thursday came after lawyers for Rutherford's ex-husband, Daniel Giersch, filed documents showing that a Monaco court now has jurisdiction over the children.

Giersch and Rutherford married in 2006 and filed for divorce in Los Angeles two years later. They were granted a divorce in July 2010 and continued to fight over custody until the 2013 order allowed Giersch to keep the children abroad.

A judge stated after giving Rutherford, who starred on "Melrose Place," temporary custody last week that he was concerned Giersch had violated a custody order.

Giersch's attorneys argued Thursday that Rutherford was aware Monaco had jurisdiction over the case and withheld crucial information.
