Jury selection for the Quentin Bealer murder trial has been completed and opening statements will begin Wednesday in a Sacramento County courtroom.
More than 340 potential jurors have been screened since the process began last Wednesday.
The trial is taking place in Sacramento County superior court after a Tehama County judge agreed that the 42-year-old Red Bluff man could not get a fair trial locally due to publicity surrounding the case.
Bealer was arrested in 2013 and charged with the murder of 14-year-old Marysa Nichols, who had gone missing February 26, 2013.
Her body was found February 28, 2013 about a half-mile behind the campus of Red Bluff Union High School.
Once a jury is selected, the trial is expected to last six to eight weeks, according to a court spokesperson.
