It has been exactly one year since the body of Chico State student Marc Thompson was found in a burned car off Oro-Quincy Highway near Mountain House, and despite the case immediately being ruled a homicide, no arrests have been made.

On the anniversary of his death, Thompson's friends and family are hoping the case makes its way back into the spotlight.

Friends and family remember Thompson as an active member of the Chico community and a voice of change. Thompson's sister, Tierra Alexander told Action News Now in an interview last year that anyone who knew her brother would say he had a positive impact on everyone and everything.

Last December the Butte County Sheriff's Office rolled out a new tip website and offered a $1,000 reward for anyone who could provide information and despite several tips, the case remains unsolved, but officials say they expect to release some updated information in the near future.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Butte County Sheriff's Office at (530) 538-7671.
