Officers responded to reports of a reckless driver in a Dodge pickup passing vehicles across a double yellow line on Neal road, just after 6 p.m.

42 year old David Long was stopped in the parking lot of Anne's Country Cafe, but fled on foot toward the bike path. Officer John Wilkey and his K-9 partner "Cash" gave chase for about 100 yards, through fields and heavy blackberry bushes ... before "Cash" apprehended Long.

It turns out the truck Long was driving had been stolen out of Magalia, and he had three felony warrants out for his arrest ... on charges of vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, and hit and run with injury.

He's now charged with an addition count of vehicle theft, and resisting arrest. Long was treated for scratches and cuts before being booked into the Butte County jail on 20 thousand dollars bail.
