A fire in Orland resulted in one home being destroyed and four others sustaining damage Saturday morning.

Firefighters responded to a call of a neighbor seeing smoke at a home on the corner of Almond Way and 8th street approximately 10 a.m. By the time firefighters arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames.

Fire investigators said the flames caused a transformer to overload starting small electrical fires in four surrounding homes. Pacific Gas and Electric shut down the power to the surrounding neighborhood for a short time while firefighters battled the blaze.

No one was injured as a result of the fire. Investigators are still determining what caused the fire.
