SYDNEY (AP) - Investigators believe Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 was on autopilot as it crossed the Indian Ocean and until it ran out of fuel.

The head of Australia's Transport Safety Bureau says investigators came to that conclusion after analyzing data between the plane and a satellite. Commissioner Martin Dolan also says, "The basic assumption would be that if the autopilot is operational it's because it's been switched on."
