Oroville police are searching for a group of people involved in a drive-by shooting late Wednesday night.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired near High Street just before 10:30 p.m., but were unable to locate any shooters or victims.

Investigators canvassed the area and found an AR-15 assault rifle in an alley between High Street and Pomona Avenue, and they returned Thursday morning and found several shell casings in the area. Police say the shell casing they found match the AR-15.

No injuries and no damage has been reported and no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Oroville Police Department at 530-538-2448.
