Red Bluff police say an officer was injured Sunday night while trying to apprehend a burglary suspect near Montgomery Road.
Police were called to a burglary alarm at Owens Health Care on South Main Street around 11 p.m. As they arrived a witness was chasing the suspect, later identified as Christopher Puckett.
Officers took chase and caught Puckett as he crossed South Main Street near Montgomery Road. Puckett was tackled and began elbowing police as they took him into custody.
One of the officers was injured during the incident and had to be treated at a local hospital. The officer has since been released, and the extent of the injuries are unknown.
Puckett was booked into the Tehama County Jail on suspicion of burglary, resisting and battery on a peace officer.
