Here in the North State, Butte County has one of 35 calls centers in California to help people enroll in the new Affordable Care Act.
Inside the Butte Community Economic Employment Center there is an office with 12 workers hired to help navigate people through Obamacare.
But so far this office has been very quiet.
Officials say there have been only 30 calls statewide and zero in Butte County.
Despite the lack of calls, Butte County is ready to work—but it’s a different story with the state: call centers have not been issued logins to access the state system. But its not all bad news.
“To be honest, we’re glad it's a little slow,” said Cathi Grams, Butte County Department of Employment and Social Services spokesperson. “We need time to work with our state partners to get these things fixed.”
