NOW: Chico Police investigate Chapmantown shooting

Chico Police are investigating a shooting near Dorothy F. Johnson Park next to C Street in Chapmantown. The shooting was reported at 9:10pm Sunday, and according to police, a juvenile was hit and taken away by ambulance. They say the victim was leaving a home in the area when several 'males' drove by in a white sedan with tinted windows and fired several shots at him. Police say the victim ran into the park across the street, where he fell down. His injury is described as 'non-life threatening.' Neighbors said they heard two series of shots, with a short pause in between. Police quickly cordoned off the area. Investigators say they are looking for a white, 4-door sedan. They say at least one car was also damaged by gunfire. They are not sure if the shooting is gang-related. Stay with Action News Now for more on this developing story...
