Mendocino National Forest Officials are reporting that the “High Glade Fire” currently burning on the Upper Lake Ranger District has burned 305 acres, and is 70 percent contained.

Full containment is expected by the end of the week, but smoke will still be visible as interior fuels continue to burn.
In the meantime, visitors are asked to avoid the area due to increased fire traffic.

Several roads are closed in the area. Visit to view Closure Order 08-13-09 for more detailed information.

The High Glade Fire was spotted early Saturday morning. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
