Northern California woman says she was randomly kidnapped

SANTA ROSA, Calif. (AP) - Northern California police say it appears a woman was randomly abducted, sexually abused and held captive for three weeks.

The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reported Saturday that the 22-year-old woman reported being abducted at gun point by three men she didn't know in a Santa Rosa neighborhood. She said she was taken to a home in the rural part of the city where she was beaten and assaulted before escaping Wednesday after noticing an open door. A friend took her to the police.

Sonoma County Sheriff's Lt. Carlos Basurto said the woman had numerous injuries consisted with sexual assault.

Investigators searched the home where the woman said she was held captive. No arrests have been made.
