SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Six people were killed in vehicle accidents over the last three days of rainy weather in Northern California.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported Saturday that investigators throughout the Bay Area are looking into the unrelated accidents that started on Thursday. All the fatal accidents occurred east of San Francisco in Oakland, Fairfield, Antioch, San Leandro, Hayward and San Lorenzo.
In addition, San Francisco police are investigating an early morning accident in the city that left a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries.
The unidentified victim was struck by a car as he crossed a street in the south part of the city at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
"The driver of the sedan initially left the scene but stopped and contacted police," said Officer Gordon Shyy, a San Francisco police spokesman.
