North Valley Animal Disaster Group offers Volunteer Training

Jan 15, 2016 10:23 PM by Linda Watkins-Bennett

The North Valley Animal Disaster Group is gearing up for a critical training session, which is mandated for current and future volunteers.

The NVADG has been in existence for 15 years ... helping to evacuate and shelter animal during disasters like wildfires, floods and earthquakes.

Last year members traveled to Nepal to help the organizations sister-group, the International Fund for Animal Welfare, and they were also active for an entire month assisting on the wildfires in Napa County, as well as local emergencies.

If you'd like to volunteer with the agency you must attend the upcoming Volunteer Training Session on January 23rd and 24th. That's to insure you are safe when it comes to helping in a disaster, and that you can assist rather than hinder emergency responders.

The training will take place at the Butte County Sheriff's Posse grounds north of Oroville. RSVP's are required. Call 530-895-0000 for more information, or visit
