North State Assemblyman Dan Logue hosted a forum to discuss veterans' needs in Butte County this afternoon.
Today's meeting was held to discuss just what services are available for veterans in Butte County, and those that are lacking.
Roughly 25 representatives from local veterans service organizations, gathered at the Chico Veterans Memorial Hall on Rio Lindo Avenue this afternoon.
Among the crowd was veteran and Butte County Supervisor Larry Wahl, who spoke about the importance of local veterans services.
Topics today included the continuous struggle for PTSD support, veterans benefits, and helping newly released veterans find jobs.
Butte County Veterans Services Representative Jessie Olson says these meetings are important to make sure veterans don't slip through the cracks like she says she nearly did. "I was homeless, I was having a hard time. I was in an abusive relationship and if it weren't for veterans giving me a kick in the pants, I wouldn't be where I am right now," says Olson.
