North State Symphony to benefit from Frugal House event

The Frugal House returns to Chico Friday, June 19th and Saturday June 20th as a fundraiser for the North State Symphony.
Now in its seventh year, the event presents a challenge for local designers ... to create a unique room within the Frugal House, without spending much money.
They use donated furniture and décor, and receive a small budget for thrift shop and discount purchases.
Many items are repurposed, and repainted increative ways.
Everything is then offered for sale, with proceeds benefitting the Symphony.
The North State Symphony functions as a program within the College of Humanities and Fine Arts at CSU, Chico.
Frugal House kicks off with a party Friday night at 6 p.m.
Attendees can shop while enjoying live music and refreshments.
The House remains open on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. as an open house.
Purchased items must be picked up on Sunday, June 21st.
This year's featured home is located at 6 Vermillion Circle in Chico, off Forest Avenue.
Parking in the neighborhood is limited, so Friday attendees are encouraged to leave their cars at Marsh Junior High School and catch a free shuttle that will run throughout the evening.
Tickets to the Friday opening night party are $40. Friday night tickets also allow readmission on Saturday. Saturday-only tickets cost $15.
Tickets for Frugal House are available at the North State Symphony office (please call ahead at 898-5984), Zucchini & Vine, Chico Chamber of Commerce, Eagle Security, and Hodge's Nursery and Gifts.
They can also be purchased online at for the June 19th opening night or for the June 20th open house.
