North State State Senator Jim Nielsen (R-Gerber), gave harsh criticism today for Obamacare.

Nielsen, a member of the Senate Health Committee, issued a statement today on the number of Californians enrolled in health insurance using 'Covered California', the State's Obamacare exchange, "The paltry participation numbers for the California exchange, like the Federal Healthcare exchange,, are clearly insufficient to build a sustainable government-run healthcare system."

"According to Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones, more than a million Californians have lost their health insurance policies. Thirty thousand people have managed to enroll using 'Covered California'. Senator Nielsen called it shameful.

Nielsen says the California Legislature added restrictions on insurers that contributed to the extraordinary number of cancellation notices (Assembly Bill 1602, Perez). He says the law needs to change so those who want to keep their health insurance plans can keep their plans.
