Roadways in the area are slick and wet conditions have forced the closure of several roads.
North of Chico, rainwater is building up across the north and southbound lanes of Highway 99 between Anita and Wilson Landing roads. Also, Nord Gianella Road at Folsom Street is closed due to flooding and West Sacramento Avenue between Meridian Road and River Road is closed.
Chico State officials have asked any students parked at Nettleton Stadium to move their vehicles immediately. Slow drainage is causing rising water, and the parking lot has been closed indefinitely.
Caltrans officials say in Shasta County, Interstate 5 is experiencing some flooding at the Balls Ferry on ramp. A high wind advisory has been issued along I-5 in Siskiyou County from Weed to Yreka.
In Weed, SIS 97 is closed due to flooding from State Route 5 to Big Springs Road in Weed.
In Glenn County, at least 13 roads are closed including the southbound lane of Highway 45 between Willows and Orland in Glenn County is closed due to flooding. There is no estimated time to reopen the lane. All of the road closures in Glenn County can be seen on the counties website.
In Tehama County the following roads have been closed due to flooding:
Rawson Road-North of Gyle Road
Rawson Road-between Corona Ave and Chittenden
Rawson Road-between Dusty Way and Chard Ave
Cone Grove Road
Shasta Boulevard between 8th and 62nd
Hamilton Avenue (Gerber Area)
Corning Road (Rawson Road to Black Butte)
People are encouraged not to drive through flooded roads, during last week's flooding in Tehama County, several motorists became stranded trying to make it through flooded roads.
