North State Lakes At Dire Levels

Jan 14, 2014 12:41 PM

On the heels of one of the driest years on record, the states two largest reservoirs are reporting some very dire levels. Both Lake Oroville, and Lake Shasta are currently at 36% of capacity, and both are only at 58% of the average for this time of year. If mother nature doesn't pick up the pace, and deliver some much needed precipitation, we could be in for a dismal 2014. Two of the most notable factors from the dry weather will be increasing fire danger, and widespread water restrictions imposed on most counties across the state.
