According to, a website that tracks gas prices around the country, last week the average price for a gallon of gas in Chico fell more than 5 cents, making the average $2.44 a gallon. The national average fell 5 cents last week.

Including the change in gas prices in Chico during the past week, prices Sunday were 112 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 34 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has decreased 49 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 118 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.
