North State Fourth of July celebrations

There will be quite a few Fourth of July celebrations in the North State this year, including a big fireworks show in Oroville compliments of USA Today and Destination America.

Saturday's Oroville celebration begins at 4 p.m. at the Oroville Dam. There will be free hot dogs and ribs, plus a big fireworks display. There will also be free shuttles running to the dam from downtown Oroville, starting at 5 p.m.

In Chico, things start early with the 50th annual Fourth of July celebration at One Mile. The race starts at 7 a.m. and there will be a breakfast at 7:30 a.m. On Saturday night there will be a fireworks show at the Silver Dollar Speedway. Fireworks will start as soon as the races end.

In Redding, there will be a fireworks show at 10 p.m. at the Civic Auditorium. Admission is free.

In Biggs, a fireworks display will happen at the Biggs High School Football Field, and in Willows fireworks will be set off at the Jensen Park.
