North State agencies out in force for max DUI enforcement

For those thinking they might be able to get away with drinking and driving this holiday season, North State law enforcement agencies are saying think again.

As of Wednesday night, Butte County agencies reported 18 DUI arrests since last Friday, and Thursday night kicks off the California Highway Patrol’s maximum enforcement period, which runs through Sunday night.

Officials say motorists can expect to see plenty of officer out on patrol, and a few check points around the North State.

North State agencies say there’s really no excuse to drink and drive with taxis and ride share services readily available.
