Communities throughout the North State have scheduled events on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015 to honor the victims of the September 11 attacks. Friday marks the 14th anniversary of the attacks. Action News Now has received the following information about local ceremonies:
Chico Vet Center is hosting a memorial event called: Remembering September 11th from 10-2 p.m. on September 11, 2015 to honor the fallen service men and women of 9/11. Food, family games and resources are available for free for Veterans and their families.
WHEN: Friday, September 11, 2015 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
WHERE: 250 Cohasset Road, Suite 40 Chico, CA 95926
The public is invited to Chico Fire – Rescue’s annual tribute to September 11th. The ceremony will be located at Chico Fire Station 5, 1777 Manzanita Avenue. The event will commence at 12:15 p.m. and will last approximately 30 minutes.
In addition to the 9/11 tribute and ceremony, Chico Fire-Rescue will unveil the newest member of its fleet: a 100 foot Pierce Manufactured Tractor Drawn Aerial Ladder Truck.
For those unavailable to make the Station 5 Tribute, there will be a smaller event beginning at 7 a.m. at Chico Fire Station 1 – 842 Salem Street.

A Patriot Day sunrise memorial ceremony will be held Friday, September 11, 2015, starting at 6:45 AM at the Giant American Flag" 2225 North Bechelli Lane.
The ceremony will remember those who lost their lives during the 9-11 attacks and honor those who have and are serving our Country and our community.
A Color Guard of fire, police and military personnel in Full Dress Uniform will hoist a 30 foot by 60 foot flag during the ceremony. This is the 14th anniversary of the attacks on our land and the 13th annual ceremony at the Giant Flag.
Patriotic songs will be performed by the Enterprise High School Band. Hosts for the event are the Redding Fire Department, Cal Fire and the Enterprise Lions Club, keepers of the Giant Flag.
