Willows Police say they have arrested one person on suspicion of arson in connection with the Dec. 14 fire that destroyed the Nordyke's New and Used Thrift Store fire.

Officers arrested 21-year-old Rolan Earl Allred of Willows after he was taken into custody at his Walnut Street home on Tuesday. Investigators have not said yet how the investigation led to Allred. The fire started early Saturday morning, gutting most of the building. Soon after, officials said arson was determined to be the cause of the fire.

The store, owned by Rusty and Sallie Nordyke, was a popular shopping spot in Willows' and one of a handful of stores that has made Willows an antique shopping destination.

Allred is in custody on $50,000.

As the investigation continues, police are still asking that anyone with questions or information regarding the incident is asked to contact Sgt. McIntyre at (530)934-3456.
